What makes your grooming unique?

My grooming services are unique because I provide one-on-one attention in a calm and serene environment, ensuring each dog feels comfortable and cared for. Only your dog or dogs are here and I don't use kennels. I will work carefully and thoughtfully on desensitizing your dog to the grooming progress rather than pushing them past their comfort level if they are nervous. I use different techniques such as playing relaxing music called through a dogs ear and useing pheromes that mimic those of a their mother prior to weening. I use T-touch, swaddling and positive reinforcement. If a dog is not confident or comfortable enough to get on my grooming table I will get down on their level. I am a Certified Dog Groomer, Positive Approach Canine Education Instructor, Pet First Aid Certified with a Vet Tech Assistant background so that you can also feel comfortable.

How long will my dog be there?

Typically 1.5 to 2.5 hours. But depending on the service(s) requested your dog will be with me between 30 minutes and 4 hours. I will not go over 4 hours on any grooming appointment for the welling being of your pet. On the rare occassion that the service is not completed within 3 to 4 hours I may ask that you return with your dog another day in order to complete. This could apply to very large overgrown dogs, matted dogs, farm dogs and fearfull dogs needing lots of breaks.

Why get my dog on a grooming schedule?

  • Getting your dog on a grooming schedule will ensure you get an appointment when its needed.
  • Your dog will not have to endure long grooming appointments to get them back to good condition which in turn is more cost effective in the long run.
  • Regular grooming reduces odour, shedding, skin and coat issues.
  • Regular expouser to grooming makes for a more comfortable experience.
  • Less at home maintance is required.
  • They always look and feel their best!

When do I bring my puppy for the first time?

Exposing your puppy to grooming early on is the best approach. Aim to bring your puppy to the groomer for the first time in the weeks following their last set of puppy vaccinations. If your already past that window of time then there's no time like the present for your pup to gain experience in the grooming salon.

Will my dog(s) be the only one(s) at your studio for my appointment?

Yes! I book 1 dog at a time or multiples from the same household, for this reason I don't use kennels for holding.

Will my dog reactive dog come in contact with other dogs?

No! I groom one-on-one, meaning one dog at a time in the studio and space between appointments to avoid interaction with other dogs.

Why are there additional charges for matting if your shaving anyways?

The matted dog fee is to cover additional blade sharpening and equipment tune-ups. When shaving a matted dog you must do what's called a "rough cut" this a cut prior to the bath so that the skin & coat can be effectively cleaned. Rough cuts dull blades and can cause the clippers blade drive to malfunction, needing replacement. During the bath a deep conditioning treatment is needed to help irritated skin feel better and after the bath a second cut is needed to even everything out.
